It is the Israelis, not the Americans, who have the most accurate intelligence on the latest Iranian attempts to acquire the nuclear bomb, say the New York Times and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). An IAEA report entitled “Possible Military Dimensions of Iran’s Nuclear Program” presented information based in part on Israeli intelligence about the latest Iranian nuclear facility, near Qom, among other evidence, and says that Iran already has “sufficient information to be able to design and produce a workable” atom bomb. The report also verifies that Iranian missiles are capable of carrying a nuclear warhead to targets in the Middle East and Europe.
