Calypso Jubbly Strawberry, is no longer kosher as it now contains a new ingredient, grape juice, which is not kosher. Old stock which does not list grape juice in the ingredients is still permitted. The following new drinks are formulated with grape juice and are therefore not kosher: Calypso Rapidz Fruit Cola, Calypso Rapidz Iron Brew, Calypso Rapidz Lemonade, Ribena Juiced Up! Mislabeled Dairy/Parve

Hamakua Kona Coffee Glaze and Honey Macs Macadamia nuts, certified by OU, contain dairy ingredients as listed in the ingredient panel, and should have been labeled OU-D, but the dairy designation was inadvertently omitted. The company is correcting this mislabeling.         OU, May 3, 2011.

Other Alerts

Entenmann’s Pop’Ems and Bimbo Donitas (8 pack), are being recalling because they may develop an uncharacteristic smell and become moldy within the sell by date. The Entenmann’s products being recalled are in blue and white bags with the following dates which are printed on the top front of the bags: May 11, 12, 15, 18, 19, 22, 25, 26, 29, 2011, June 1, 2, 6, 2011. The Bimbo products being recalled are in cellophane wrappers with the same dates which are printed in a circle in the upper right of the package. All products with the above code dates are being removed from store shelves in the affected states. No other Entenmanns’s or Bimbo products or other states are affected. Goodness Gardens Chives, is being voluntarily recalled because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The Chives with Lot # 0201111 were distributed in various plastic clamshell containers: 0.25 oz. (UPC 0 21985 20005 6), 2/3 oz. (UPC 0 21985 10004 2), 1 lb. bags, and 1/2 oz. twist tie bunches in NY, NJ, CT, MA, PA, MD, AL, IL, and VA through retail stores primarily and one wholesaler in PA. Consumers are urged not to consume chives from the above lot and instead to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Mountain Pure bottled drinking water, is being voluntarily recalled after officials at the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) announced that test results show the presence of biological contamination. The recall includes lots marked with a four-digit time code from 2200 through 0400. This is etched into the plastic bottle. Also included is an expiration date code that says either Best By 2-27-2013 MPWA or Best By 2-28-2013 MPWA. These are bottles of purified drinking water in the 16.9 fl. oz. (506 ml.) size. ADH is recommending that anyone who might have purchased or received any of this bottled water dispose of it or return it to the point of purchase. FoodManufacturing.com on May 10, 2011
