Triple Washed leafy vegetables, may not satisfy the halachic requirement of checking leafy vegetables for bugs. Although these leafy vegetables may go through a rigorous cleaning process that minimizes sand, dirt and bugs, this washing may not be sufficient for kashrut purposes and high levels of infestation have been reported in these packages. Kosher consumers are advised to purchase leafy vegetables that are certified by a reliable kashrut agency or to follow the guidelines of washing and checking these vegetables as described by their rabbi. cRc, June 15, 2009

Nestlé® Toll House® refrigerated cookie dough (all varieties): Cookie Bar Dough; Cookie Dough Tub; Cookie Dough Tube; Limited Edition Cookie Dough items; Seasonal Cookie Dough and Ultimates Cookie Bar Dough, are being voluntarily recalled as precaution after E. coli 0157:H7 illnesses were reported that may be related to consumption of raw cookie dough. No other Nestlé Toll House products are impacted. The company and the FDA strongly advise consumers not to eat raw cookie dough. This message also appears prominently on the packaging.
