MealMart brand kosher broiled chicken livers, are being recalled due to possible contamination with Salmonella. Chicken livers, although labeled “broiled”, are not sold fully cooked and must be cooked before consuming. This Salmonella strain has been found in samples of kosher broiled chicken livers and in samples of chopped liver made from the same broiled chicken liver. Tabatchnick Yankee Bean Soup 15 oz, has been recalled because of potential contamination with Clostridium botulinum, a bacterium which can cause life-threatening illness or death. Consumers should not to use the product even if it does not look or smell spoiled. Product with Best If Used By date of 05 04 14 was distributed to the Safeway store in Corte Madera, CA. The product was sold in retail stores in FL, NY, PA, MD, and NJ – between June 2011 and October 2011. No illnesses have been reported. Affected product is 5.5 fl. oz. size in cartons with Lot Number 10009 “Best Used By” date 10/1/2012, – UPC 0 70640 00463. A limited number of packages, of Super Chunky Cookie Dough ice cream were packed in cartons of Peanut Butter Panic ice cream.
