Sanfilippo & Son, has recalled its two lines in its Baking Classics range due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The Baking Classics brand Nut Topping has a UPC code of 04113002059 and a best before date of 28 September 2010. Products have been recalled by the manufacturer. These products were sold primarily at Sobey’s and FreshCo in Chicago. Mislabeled Dairy/Parve

Diamond Crystal GFS Sugar, is being recalled because some canisters were inadvertently filled with non-dairy coffee creamer. These items were shipped in 24-can cases with lot number G293 B. Non-dairy coffee creamer contains sodium caseinate, which is a milk derivative. Customers who received product affected by this recall will be contacted directly by a Diamond Crystal Brands Inc. customer service representative. Smucker’s Natural Peanut Butter Chunky 16 oz., is being recalled because it may be contaminated with Salmonella. Affected product bears UPC: 5150001701, Production Codes: 1307004 and 1308004, and Best-If-Used-By dates: August 3, 2012 and August 4, 2012. Impacted product would have been purchased between November 8 – 17, 2011. Consumers are urged to discard the product immediately and call the company at 888-550-9555 for a replacement coupon. MealMart brand kosher broiled chicken livers, are being recalled due to possible contamination with Salmonella. Chicken livers, although labeled “broiled”, are not sold fully cooked and must be cooked before consuming. This Salmonella strain has been found in samples of kosher broiled chicken livers and in samples of chopped liver made from the same broiled chicken liver. Tabatchnick Yankee Bean Soup 15 oz, has been recalled because of potential contamination with Clostridium botulinum, a bacterium which can cause life-threatening illness or death. Consumers should not to use the product even if it does not look or smell spoiled. Product with Best If Used By date of 05 04 14 was distributed to the Safeway store in Corte Madera, CA. This date code sold at other retail outlets has not been affected. Consumers who have purchased affected product are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Badia Spices Pinenuts, has been recalled because it may be contaminated with Salmonella Enteritidis. Affected product includes (UPC) 033844 00068 – 1 oz Pine nuts in small plastic bags Lot # 84666  (UPC) 033844 00733 – 2 oz Pine nuts in pet bottles Lot # 83184, 85442. The product was sold in retail stores in FL, NY, PA, MD, and NJ – between June 2011 and October 2011. No illnesses have been reported. Badia Spices repacked bulk pine nuts which were imported from Turkey and subsequently recalled by Sunrise Commodities of Englewood Cliffs, N.J.     FDA, November 4, 2011.

Chocolate Crisp Bumble Bar Organic Energy Bar, contains undeclared milk, peanut, and soy. The bars are stamped with DE. The chocolate does not contain dairy but is processed on the same line as dairy.     CFIA, November 3, 2011

Blue Bunny Peanut Butter Panic Personals ice cream, was mislabeled and contains undeclared wheat. Affected product is 5.5 fl. oz. size in cartons with Lot Number 10009 “Best Used By” date 10/1/2012, – UPC 0 70640 00463. A limited number of packages, of Super Chunky Cookie Dough ice cream were packed in cartons of Peanut Butter Panic ice cream. The ingredient statement on the carton does not declare wheat, which is an ingredient in the Super Chunky Cookie Dough product. Wegmans Food Markets Bulk Turkish Pine nuts, is being recalled because it may contain Salmonella. Approximately 5,000 lbs. of nuts sold in the bulk foods department of most Wegmans stores in NY, PA, NJ, VA, and MD between July 1 and October 18, 2011 are affected.  Consumers who have purchased this product should discard any that remains in their homes and visit the service desk at Wegmans for a full refund.
